Infrastructure

While Peabody Hotels & Resorts is a “new” model for Belz Enterprises, the company is no stranger to managing hotels. During the mid-80s, Belz Enterprises was the largest franchisor of Holiday Inns. Up until recently, the company owned, branded, and operated three independent luxury hotels. We continue to carry much of that infrastructure with us into this new concept of Asset Branded and Managed vs. Asset Owned.

 

We have recently moved towards a much more scalable tech platform turning to TravelClick for solutions relating to Central Reservations System (CRS) website booking engine, GDS/IDS channel management facilitation with our PMS (Opera/Fidelio) is BI centric, user-friendly, and scalable, which will allow for seamless portfolio growth.

 

Our Central Reservations office has been relocated to Memphis and is poised to take on a much higher call volume. In addition, based on a very deep management “bench,” as we undertake the responsibilities of branding and managing an asset, we have specific area-focused task force teams and plans in place to successfully incorporate our culture and standards into a new development or a conversion.

 

Partners and Involvement

The Peabody brand has always prided itself in being the icon of each destination and provides a certain level of soul and uniqueness. We become part of the fabric of each community through involvement, support, and leadership, creating top-of-mind awareness within the local market. From the Chamber of Commerce to our very close partnership with Memphis Tourism (Memphis’ Convention and Visitors Bureau) to the many key corporate relationships we maintain and charity boards we sit on, this is how we do business.

 

We also retain some very important out-of-market relationships. As an independent hotel, we are an active member of Historic Hotels of America, Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Elite Meetings, and Associated Luxury Hotels. We work closely with these organizations to assist with brand awareness and financial improvement within all market segments.

 

Standards

Having gone through an extensive process with The Freeman Group, Peabody Hotels & Resorts knows that for any service training process to work and to develop any sort of consistency in delivery we must have clearly defined standards. Without them, performance expectations could never be consistently met. From that process, we developed and implemented generalized Standards of Performance (SOP) manuals. These performance standards are the benchmarks all Peabody Hotels & Resorts will carry.

 

Media Lightning Rod…

Producing over $11 million in Ad equivalency annually, The Peabody brand is a magnet for the media. From the history and uniqueness of the brand to the Peabody Marching Ducks, the media loves our story. Over the years, many Celebrities, Politicians, Rock Stars, and Sports Idols have had the privilege of being the Honorary Duckmaster. To name a few… George Hamilton, Patrick Swayze, Oprah Winfrey, Florence Henderson, Emeril Lagasse, Joan Collins, Gene Simmons, Molly Ringwald, Jeff Dunham, Peter Frampton, Andrew McCarthy, Chris Isaak, Paula Deen, Larry King, Kevin Bacon, and Stephen Fry have all served as Honorary Duckmasters. The Peabody Ducks have also been a must-see attraction for the likes of Lisa Marie Presley, Michael Jordan, Nicholas Cage, Priscilla Presley, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, Kathy Bates, Jeff Bridges, Samuel L.
